Liquid Gold Gel Serum
Sapogel Q is a very exciting ingredient, made from Quillaja and Soapwart, which allows you to turn oils and butters to make rich, smooth gel textures without the use of water and gums. It is 100% natural, palm free, COSMOS and NATRUE approved.
This is an amazing way to change up your favourite oil based facial serums, turning them into rich, silky gel-like textures which slide beautifully onto the skin.
For this example we're using our Liquid gold skin replenishing serum, because it's my personal favourite.
Make Your Own Liquid Gold Gel Serum
Ingredients
Makes 20g
Phase A
20% | 4g Sapogel Q
Phase B
80% | 16g Liquid gold skin replenishing serum
Method
- Measure out your Sapogel Q and Liquid gold serum into separate beakers.
- Slowly add the liquid gold serum into the sapogel Q a few drops at a time and stir until the oil is completely incorporated.
- Repeat until the gel starts to form and thicken.
- As it gets thicker you can start adding more liquid gold serum at a time but still take it slowly as adding too much at once will cause the gel to split.
- Transfer to containers - this size batch fits well in a 15ml glass pot or three 5ml glass pots
To use
- With clean, dry fingers apply to face after cleansing.
Substitutions
- You can make this with any oil/oil serum of your choice.
- You can use less or more Sapogel Q, between 15-25%. 15% will create a firmer gel and 25% will create a more liquid honey-like final product.
