Coffee Scrub

Super easy recipe which smells amazing! Scrubs are a great way to exfoliate dead skin cells, boost blood circulation and leave your skin feeling silky and smooth.
This recipe is very easy to make completely organic just by using organic sugar and coffee!

In this recipe I have used coarse sugar (raw brown sugar) and coffee grounds (plunger grind size) which makes it good for full body use, if I was formulating for facial use I would use caster sugar and fine coffee grounds (espresso grind size). What I will say is be careful when using scrubs on your face, it's very tempting to really go for it and get rid of all those dead skin cells, but we actually need those dead skin cells! They are what make up the layers of our skin which protect us from the harsh environment that our face is subjected to every day. So just be very gentle.

How to Use Body Scrub: A Step-by-Step Guide

Using a body scrub is an amazing way to pamper your skin and leave it soft, smooth, and glowing! Here’s how to get the most out of your scrub:

  1. Start with Damp Skin: Hop into the shower or bath and let your skin soak up some moisture. This helps the scrub glide on easily.
  2. Scoop Out the Right Amount: Take a small handful of scrub, just enough to cover the areas you’re working on.
  3. Gently Massage in Circular Motions: Apply the scrub to your skin and massage gently in circular movements. Focus on rough areas like elbows, knees, and heels.
  4. Take Your Time: Enjoy the process! Let the scrub do its magic while boosting circulation and giving your skin a rejuvenating massage.
  5. Rinse Thoroughly: Wash off the scrub with warm water. Be sure to rinse away all the grains or residue for silky-smooth skin.
  6. Pat Dry (No Rubbing!): Gently pat your skin dry with a soft towel to lock in moisture without irritation.
  7. Moisturise Immediately: Follow up with your favourite mild body lotion, body butter, or carrier oil to keep your skin hydrated and radiant.
Use Once or Twice a Month: Over-exfoliating can irritate your skin, and remove too many skin cells... so aim to use your scrub 1–2 times a month.

Feel free to make this a mini spa moment, it’s all about treating yourself! 💖

Note: The vitamin E in this recipe acts as an antioxidant and will help to give it a longer shelf life but is not a broadspectrum preservative. Therefore it is very important that water does not come in contact with the scrub. Make sure you use dry hands and while you can apply it in the shower to limit mess, do so before you turn the shower on and remove it from the shower before you run the water.
