Method
- In separate pots heat both Phase A and Phase B to 65°C. (Make sure the emulsifier in the Phase B is completely melted, Phase B may heat faster and need to be taken off the heat to cool to 65°C while Phase A catches up.)
- When both are at 65°C, pour Phase B into Phase A and blend with stick blender until thickened.
- Let cool to 40°C then add Phase C and blend again.
- Tare an empty jug or pot on scales and put your finished cream into it. It will have lost water weigh, add more water to bring it up to final weight. In this case 200g. Then blend again.
- Check/adjust pH to 5 - 5.5 See our pH testing - why & how we do it blog post for more info.
- Pour into a bottle with a lotion pump while still warm, before it thickens too much.
Tip: Pre-measure your Phase C ingredients into a beaker or dish so that it's ready to go.
To use
- Massage onto skin and polish with a damp muslin face cloth or flannel.
