Our organic, cold-pressed, hexane-free castor oil is derived from the seeds of the Ricinus communis plant. It is a fast-growing perennial shrub native to the Mediterranean region, Eastern Africa, and India. Belonging to the Euphorbiaceae family, this plant has been cultivated for centuries for its versatile oil. Castor oil is traditionally extracted using the cold-pressing method, where the seeds are physically pressed to release the oil. This method is preferred for producing high-quality, pure, unrefined castor oil without the use of solvents like hexane.
