Vetiver essential oil, certified organic

Description: Vetiver essential oil is derived from the complex white root system of a grass used in India and Sri Lanka for the creation of woven matting.

History: In India and Sri Lanka, vetiver essential oil is known as the 'oil of tranquility’.

Consistency: heavy & viscous. Thicker than most essential oils, comes with a dripulator cap though pipettes can be very helpful for more specific measurement.

Common uses

Aromatherapy: Vetiver essential oil is often used in aromatherapy due to its grounding and calming scent. The aroma is believed to have a relaxing and soothing effect on the mind, promoting a sense of calm and reducing stress and anxiety.

Air freshener: The rich, woody scent of vetiver essential oil makes it an appealing choice for use as a natural air freshener. It can be added to diffusers, potpourri, or even mixed with water and sprayed around the room to mask odors and create a pleasant ambiance.

Mood enhancement: The aroma of vetiver oil is thought to have a positive impact on mood and emotions. It's often used to uplift the spirit, improve focus, and create an overall sense of well-being.

Grounding and centring: Vetiver essential oil is commonly used in meditation and mindfulness practices. Its deep, earthy fragrance is believed to help individuals feel more grounded and centred, aiding in the exploration of inner thoughts and emotions.

Scented products: The unique aroma of vetiver oil makes it a popular ingredient in perfumes, colognes, and other scented products. Its complexity and depth can add an intriguing and distinctive note to fragrance blends.

Insect repellent: Some anecdotal evidence suggests that vetiver oil may have insect-repelling properties. It has been used as a natural alternative to chemical insect repellents in some cases.

Crafts: Vetiver oil can be incorporated into arts and crafts projects to infuse items with its unique scent. It's also used in candle-making, adding a warm and earthy aroma to candles.
