Ylang ylang III essential oil, certified organic

Description: Ylang ylang oil is extracted from Cananga odorata – also known as 'flower of flowers'. Ylang ylang is a tall tropical tree about 20 metres high with large, tender, fragrant pink, mauve or yellow flowers. The yellow heads are viewed as being the best in terms of quality.

History: In Indonesia, ylang ylang flower petals are strewn upon the bed of newlywed couples. Ylang ylang was a popular ingredient of hair preparations in Europe and was known as Macassar oil. The word 'anti-macassar' originated from this, since an anti-macassar was used to keep hair oil from staining upholstered furniture.

Consistency: light
Strength of aroma: medium

Perfumery and scented products: The alluring and sweet floral scent of ylang ylang makes it a popular ingredient in perfumes, colognes, and other scented products. Its fragrance is often used to create sensual, exotic, and romantic scents.

Air freshener: Ylang ylang essential oil can be added to diffusers or mixed with water to create a natural air freshener that eliminates odors and fills the room with a pleasant aroma.
