Solid Conditioner Bars PACK

Make your own solid conditioner bars. It's a wonderful way to get plastic bottles out of your shower, and all ingredients are Vegan and cruelty free.

• All of the ingredients you need for one batch, divided into two easy steps.

Note: No mould and no physical instructions sheets in this starter / refill pack

Equipment you'll need: Spatula, moulds and the equipment to make a double boiler (large pot and smaller pot or heatproof jug).

Ingredients (makes approx 6x 50g bars)

Step 1:
Conditioner pellets (BTMS 25)
Organic Deodorised Cocoa Butter

Step 2:
Glycerin, Certified Organic
Hydrolysed Quinoa
Chosen Fragrance or Essential Oil (please note the Vanilla Fragrance option turns the bars brown - add additional colour if preferred)
Microcare DB (preservative)

If you wish to add colour then 1 - 2 tsps should do it. Just sprinkle in as you blend until you reach the depth of shade you desire.

Purchase: Mould or Colours you require. (Not included in the kit) 


Method:

1. Make a double boiler by placing a heatproof jug carefully inside a pot of simmering water.
2. In the double boiler gently melt Step 1.
3. Once melted (but not boiling) take the jug off the heat and stir in Step 2. Now is the time to add colour if you want to.
4. Pour into moulds and leave to set. Refrigerate to speed up the process. Once hard, remove from moulds.
5. Your conditioner bar is now ready to use!
6. To use, apply the bar to wet hair after shampooing and massage through. Rinse clean.
7. Leave the bar out to air dry, ready for its next use.

About the ingredients

We know some of these ingredients are unfamiliar so here's a quick summary of what they are and what they do.

Conditioner pellets - Often seen in recipes as BTMS-25, these pellets make a luxurious hair conditioner (the best we've ever come across) and hair detangler for leave-on and rinse-off products.

Hydrolysed quinoa - considered a complete protein, it is packed with vitamins and minerals as well as 17 amino acids which help repair damage to the hair shaft while its proteins coat and strengthen the hair. It can help to gently cleanse and nourish your hair while aiding in hair colour retention, conditioning and protection. It is also said to aid in hair growth while preventing breakage, increasing shine and the overall healthy appearance of the hair.

Organic glycerin - palm oil free, vegetable oil based, mainly soybean and coconut oil. Glycerin is a sugar alcohol which acts as a moisturiser (emollient) and humectant, meaning it absorbs water from the air.
